About this event
We are excited to be hosting our 4th annual conference which is aimed at:
• young people and;
• people advising and working with young people, including: solicitors, barristers, law students, youth workers and parents
The theme this year is 'Discrimination: are young people protected?'
The conference will update and inform you of:
• the legal rights of young people and children under, inter alia, the Children Act, Children’s and Families Act, Care Act, Equality Act and Housing Act;
• how to access help;
• and what remedies are available if your legal rights are breached.
We are delighted that Dr Laura Janes, the Legal Director of the Howard League for Penal Reform, is our Keynote speaker. Laura has oversight of the Howard League's legal service for people under 21 in prison and a doctorate in Youth Justice.
We expect lively sessions bringing young people together with professionals to discuss issues relating to discrimination faced by young people.
